Dexter Patches

You will need to find out what revision you are at in Dexter before you do upgrades. You can easily find this out by going into Dexter, clicking on the skeleton key along the top of the screen and then jotting down the revision number that appears there, i.e., 3.29.01, 3.30.00.

Once you know what revision you are at, follow the guidance given in the table below to see which file, or files, you will need to download and unzip. Once you have all of the files you might need to do a revision to the newest version, you will need to unzip each of them in the order they appear in the table below.

3.33.00 changes the DHL, FedEx and UPS rates to the rates that will go into effect on 1/4/2010. 3.33.01 changes the postal rates that go into effect on 1/4/2010, and fixes an issue with FedEx air letter rates. 3.33.02 adds the UPS retail rates and fixes a problem with the UPS letter rates, which are only available up to 8 ounces. 3.33.03 fixes an issue with the UPS insurance on their suggested retail rates and a FedEx Air issue where the extensive markup bulking tool would not finish. 3.33.04 fixes an issue with the FedEx Air additional handling fee that was charging this fee on a 70 pound package when it should only start charging when the package is in excess of 70 pounds.

HOW TO USE THIS TABLE: Compare the [Instructions] Column against the revision you are presently at in Dexter to see if your revision is older than what is listed there. If your revision is older, you will need to download and unzip the adjacent file. You should move down through each row in the table and download all of the files that your present revision is older than. If your revision is old, you may have to download and unzip all of the files.

*** Data files may require that you check your data within Dexter after unzipping the specific data file to see if you need to make adjustment to your markups, special service fees, etc. See the listing below for guidance on this.

dx3.33.00: In order to avoid losing your UPS, FedEx and DHL extensive markup values, be sure to follow the directions for upgrading and preserving your extensive markup values. The article specifying how to do this is listed at the top of the front page of this web site. Extensive markup users will also need to set markups for FedEx 10kg and 25kg boxes, UPS international paks, DHL International zone N.

The dx3_33_01b.exe file was replace at noon Eastern time on the 4th of January to fix a mistake. If you had already done this revision before noon, you can remedy this by downloading and unzipping the 'b' file again.

Dexter Carrier Fuel Surcharges (September 2010)

Fuel surcharges change monthly and this is the file that will automatically update your fuel surcharges for the month listed above. You must be at a revision of 3.30.00 or beyond for this to work. So, if your Dexter is not up to date, get upgraded.
